That there is a big difference between Ukraine and The Netherlands is probably a fact that one will deny. Experiencing this difference however is a totally different story, but what an experience it is!

Arriving at the train station in Kiev I realized I really arrived in a country that was totally different then mine. Not only the people look different, by the way Ukrainian girls are beautiful!, but also the cars, the buildings and more problematic the alphabet. While I am trying to figure out the pronunciation of the words, Sasha from AIESEC Kiev picks me up and explains me the pronunciation! This in unlike anything I have heard before in my life. Besides this I hear that the subway has strong metal doors that in case of an emergency can close, about the beautiful churches in the city and shows me the apartment where I can stay. Right away I meet Chris from Canada and Nico from Chile . I hear that Florian the third person living in the apartment is from Holland as well and I am anxious the meet him. The next days we see as much as we can about Kiev . Saint Andrevski, Lavra, Golden Gate, Saint Sohia, Khreshatik Street, Saint Micheals Cathedral are beautiful places I would advise everyone to see!
Thanks to AIESEC I really got an unique opportunity to learn not only about myself but more importantly about the culture and people of Ukraine . Looking back at my unforgettable trip I can only say, what a great people and what great a country is Ukraine!

After my great stay in Kiev , it was up to the conference that AIESEC had organized in Donetsk . In the train I meet Ivan, a boy of 12 years old. Since his English is not that good we draw pictures for half an hour and Ivan called his brother over five times for translation, but we managed to understand each other! Arriving at the station a group of 6 other AIESECers are on the station as well and we got off to the city to get some breakfast. When the conference starts I am amazed by the enthusiasm and atmosphere! The way the AIESECers show their energy and promote their own LC gave me an enormous boost. I had the privilege to be a facilitator at this great conference, and during my sessions I was stunned by the participants knowledge and motivation. The sharing of each others knowledge really made this one of my most intense AIESEC experiences! After the conference Vitalik showed my around in the city of Donetsk , where I got the change to visit the three beautiful lakes, the artificial mountains, and the parks of Donetsk .
Thanks to AIESEC I really got an unique opportunity to learn not only about myself but more importantly about the culture and people of Ukraine . Looking back at my unforgettable trip I can only say, what a great people and what great a country is Ukraine!
